If you are a naive and an amateur blogger, you would not be much exposed to the concept of assignment invited. Even if you have some knowledge of guest blogs, you can ask "what is the big deal about this stuff?"

Alternatively, if you have a niche or if you are a jack of all subjects and then it leaves you with more options.
Step immediately after a search is segregation. Once you've found a few results for your search separate meets your needs. What you write is not a primary concern (do not underestimate the power of quality well!), where you write is what matters the most.

Some bloggers do not use the title (h2 or h3) tags, some use the bullet points, some use none.By observing all these, you will be able to post right you right on this blog.
Once you've taken a few blogs and read that the positions in this comment on them (I mean comments) and also subscribe. It is the first step to build relationships with the host blogger. Friendship with the owners of blog in all social networks.
Do not mount as a stranger and submit guest posts. It is always recommended to be known for blogger somehow.
Once you've read the blogs and have established relationships with the owners, the next step is to choose the topic in which you write. You can choose a subject which is not at all in the blog (but related to the niche of the blog) or you can also choose a subject that is based on a subject already existing on this blog.
Once you start identifying potential blogs, make a list of these blogs. This will help you be systematically with your guest blogging campaign. Even if you are not going to be a very active guest blogger, a list will help you when you are ready just.
Preferably keep a spreadsheet with the list of blogs and some of their parameters such as PR, Mozrank, Alexa rank, number of links and so on.
All that these may seem complicated. But if you go to the departure of the effort, you can sit down you and guest post in a systematic manner with great ease.
