5 Steps to develop the power of Blogging and public engagement

Last week, I participated in leadership training. The training was to develop competence as leader and also to develop the commitment of employees.   While the topics were very interesting, I couldn't help thinking how to apply some of these subjects were to blog.

We rarely consider a leader in our community of blogs.  Truth, we are leaders of the community we have created.  Your audience reads your blog for information and guidance.  Many of them are responsible for their own tribe and blogs.

The similarities between the skills of effective leadership and blogs were often tend to overlap.  Blogging jurisdiction can be easily described as the ability to communicate and to an effective message in the field of your niche.  In addition, your jurisdiction is based on your knowledge and delivery.  Public engagement can be described as the Act of commitment to your reader, referring or entrust the blogger (i.e. you) as a source of confidence and useful information.

For example, when I read your blog, I find the information that will help me in my efforts as a blogger, business or in my personal life.  I expect to apply this knowledge and exchange ideas with you.

The two concepts, skills and commitment, are what you are looking for as a blogger, right?

Therefore, I recommend the following steps to be used as a blueprint on how to develop these two important concepts.

(1) Say

For most of us, this is what we do.  We generate the subject and talk to everyone.  As the author of the post, you must inform, guide and teach.  As a conveyor of information, you must put information in context and make it interesting for your readers.  This is the reason why keep readers returning.  If you are genuine and spreading, your readers will make his return for more information.  You can become a blogger "cannot live without"!  Share what you know to help people improve their quality of life.   Share and be compatible!

(2) Show

Preach by example.  With so many different platforms and networks, you need to develop multiple streams of your information.  Go beyond writing a post.  You can display it with a video from YouTube or audio clip. Wait - I know what you will say, "but Roberto, I hate the sound of my voice" or "I hate to be in front of a camera."  Difficult!

I hate my voice too, but my passion will always trump my fears.

Remember when you started blogging?  I am sure that you were nervous about writing too much, but you look now.

We all learn and consume content differently.  Some people prefer to read, commute while others, like listen to the content in their work.    What are the opportunities to open new streams of traffic too.  They are more opportunities to help.

What is project that you went to?  Start today!

(3) Let the person try

After you show them, let.  See what feedback you get back and be used to implement your ideas.  It is possible that your audience can improve your idea.  Perhaps they create something completely new.  Don't think for a minute that because there is no feedback, people not try your suggestions.  We all do.  You write something attractive and information, and I will implement it in my site.  It is as simple as that.

(4) Observe Performance

It is the part where we must begin to close the loop.  It is very easy to publish an article; respond to a few comments and call it a day. But you are by your readers?  Check if they follow your suggestions.  Don't know how?  Ask them.  Create a position and ask your audience if they tried your method.

I challenge allows you to go a step further: visit their website.  See how they did.  Ask them what they liked. As they improve and why?

It's like having a teacher hear you on a concept and never feedback.  This is your chance to develop richer relationships with your audience.

(The progress of praise 5) or redirection

Finally, rent your audience.  Always me is a lesson of humility very when someone takes the time to listen to or read something, I must say.  In addition, the fact that they implemented something, you said eloquent confidence they have in you.  Yet again, to praise and thank them.  Write a post on their actions.  Highlight their improvement and what they have done.

Now ask you: if I do that, what is the likelihood is my audience to be engaged in a future post?

However, if you see one of your audience members something which is not a job or he needs improvement, ask their authorization help.  Let them choose if they want your feedback.  Always look for opportunities to help as long as they so wish, and it is welcome.

This is how build you meaningful relationships with your audience.  This is also how you will show competence in your field.

It is difficult to do all the time? Absolutely.  But you're going to let fear of your dreams?  I hope not.

I would like to hear you.  What other advice do you have on the construction of the power of blogging and engagement with your audience?
