As we mentioned here a few hundred times, smart social media marketing is actually content marketing.
Why?
Because people love to share content on social networks.
If this content is yours, you are introducing new people with every contribution. people who now have the opportunity to learn about and trust you enough to buy from you.
People on Facebook and Twitter provide free exposure to smart marketers who are building your business with online content. But there's a new player in the game, which can be simply content marketing platform of choice.
Let's talk about Google + (as well as everything else).
In case you prisoners in Turkish prisons over the past few weeks, Google + is a new social networking platform with a giant search engine.
It has been more accurately called the "Exchange" platform, and I think that the only difference is that all production of online content, you must take a serious look at the Google +.
Here are 3 things to think about when considering the need to hop on Google + to drive traffic to your site:
Based on initial reports, Google + it's fastest-growing social network ever, despite limited access to just the beginning.
Google has 10 million users after only two weeks, and this number could reach 20 million as you read this.
This is partly the better design and functionality, but also from the integration of Google + Google network. Google already hundreds of millions of users as a whole, which gives you Google + "unfair" advantage at this stage was not Facebook and Twitter.
Takeaway: social network managed by the people, and it looks like Google + to a great start. If the growth continues, there's a good chance on Google +, which means that you should be on Google + will people you are trying to achieve.
As noted above, Google + was built from the ground up as a content sharing platform.
It takes good things about Facebook and Twitter and makes them better. More importantly, Google had the luxury of watching what Facebook and Twitter did wrong and did it right.
There are many other articles which explain why Google is shaping up to be an excellent + content sharing platform. Up to the heart of the matter Google solves the inherent privacy and "over-sharing" questions that make problematic Facebook providing rich multimedia and discuss conditions that Twitter just can't match.
Takeaway: Google + has been put together to promote, celebrate and protect content sharing. Content marketers have every incentive to participate, because Google knows that content sharing drives social networks.
The Google search engine was built on the premise that content with links pointing to deserves higher than content with fewer links.
With the advent of social media Google algorithm to include Exchange as an additional indicator of quality content for ranking purposes.
Google effectively locked out of the walled garden of Facebook.
Twitter tweets and retweets has been shown to influence Google rankings, and my bet is they will still go ahead.
But now, Google has its own content sharing platform that provides direct access to the people's voice when it comes to quality content.
Takeaway: this is great. Create audience on Google + may be the smartest thing you do as a content Marketer, when it comes to improved search rankings. You still need to understand the language of your audience and reflect it in your content, but Google will now have direct evidence that you're putting out quality material.
Despite the earlier charm and impressive growth this thing is barely out of the gate.
