Why a personal Blog can boost your business

OK, step literally, but each time that I post my gut casings a little, my heart pounds and I bite my nails lug for the comments that I have. It is because everything that I write on is mine - my experience, my thoughts, my comments - something, I feel like really, and nu-all the honest and real anything. If I am not a little afraid to display it, I know that this is not quite correct.

While my blog is personal and honest, sometimes as pain (which I try to cover with a dash of humour), my rule is to never, never blame others or write negatively on those I love. In this way, that it has become common and better than cognitive therapy - it force sale me to redefine my thinking and my laundry outside air publicly at the same time. It is absolutely frightening and the thing the more alternate, processing, I have never in my life.

And, believe it or not, this uber-personal blog has been great for businesses.

I am a freelance writer and editor by trade. I started seriously as a gift to myself of anniversary last year. No purpose really, other that just to have a space where I could write anything any way I wanted to for once. A way to extend my creative wings, do a little more profound reflection on my life and, thus, just to see what would happen.

So I sent a link to the first position of friends with no idea of what she would think - was it merely narcissistic navel-gazing, or had it value outside my own short-sighted view of things?

The response was much more positive than I would have imagined.  I started to look at it differently as people I respect me compared with Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, love), I was told that I was a great writer, and how I had captured exactly how they felt things, how I should write a book, etc., etc..

After a few months, I took a leap of faith, information on my loins, assembled the troops, took a few cleansing breaths and…hit "send" on an e-mail containing the link to a few customers and trusted colleagues.

They think I was a Flash, shake their heads on my only breach). traditional - keep your personal and professional life separate?  No, they are not. They were impressed, and they told me so. They thought of the projects for me, I should talk about work, people asked me what my plans were for the blog - essentially it I grew up, not down, in their estimation.  Hunh. Who woulda' he thunk?

I thought a little since, and here is what I can gather are reasons to be an effective marketing tool - purely scientific, but might be useful if you consider your own personal blog could make or break your business.

1. It turns out that I am legit. Anyone can call themselves a writer, , but we all know there are many people who do and really shouldn't. At least that they had worked with me, all my colleagues know that I'm a writer, but had no way to know if I really deserved the title.

2 They get to know the real me best. Even if I am a writer better than person business, but I know that personal connections are what that turn the business world. And my colleagues in the company and certainly better customers know me through my blog.

3 He keeps me top-of-mind. Whenever I write a new post, they think of me. Now if I can manage to post more than once a month, I'd be golden!

4 It shows my social media/online publishing "alerted". We know all that when the advertising and marketing is the head, and my blog shows that I at least understand the concept of online communication tools.

But here's my opposition: with a personal blog for marketing your business is not always a good idea! In some cases, it may actually affect your business and your reputation in the business world.

1. I do not send the link to potential customers unless they seek articles of type test, texts of opinion or a blog writes.  Because it is a form of writing such WebServices, the first person, it can often be relevant - and potentially harmful - if I am fishing for some of the work of marketing communications.

2. My themes are universal - human experience from my point of view, if you want to.  If your personal blog is more specific or related to the interest, say terrarium gardening or the wonders of the golden retrievers, I might think twice before using it as a business tool.

3. I decided at the beginning, until I knew even that he would be read by colleagues of the company, that with Sakers in my blog a right out. The English language is so incredibly rich one does need not rely on the use of words crass to shock or to make a message. He is lazy and reflects poorly on the writer as a person and is, of course, extremely inappropriate for an audience of the company.

4 If you are not a writer by trade, a personal blog should probably just remaining.  Think of a personal blog as a platform for showing the extent and depth of your skill your business audience.

5. If your blog is without inspiration and interest - not something you have a passion for or think that you will be able to follow regularly – your readers will be notice and surrender to you. Not a particularly great advertising for your business.

In closing, I would just say this thing. Fear not to have fear. If you start a personal blog, first of all be done by yourself and make it bold honest. This is why it is called personal after all. The waters of testing, but don't be afraid to jump in and send the link to your friends as much as possible.

And if you get a positive response from those trust you to be honest, it is likely that you will receive a favourable response from your colleagues and clients.
